TO PURSUE OR NOT: WHY NIGERIAN DEPOSIT BANKS NEED TO EMBRACE THE BALANCED SCORECARD

The balanced scorecard as one of the strategic performance measurement tools has changed face assessment in management and been widely discussed analyzed since Kaplan Norton introduced concept early 1900s. However, this is not so developing economies. In Nigeria, particularly banking sector, need to use a basis for managing measuring at low. Using stakeholder theory, study importance tool manage firm stakeholders’ needs. It recommended that Nigerian banks implement fully utilize tool.
